In short
This tool recognises the text of a scanned or photographed PDF, so you can select, copy and search it: a digitised contract, paper archives, a letter run through a scanner. The recognised text is added invisibly beneath the image of each page: the document's appearance does not change. By default, only pages without text are processed. Recognition (Tesseract) covers French, Dutch, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Polish, and several languages can be chosen together. On a blurred or skewed photo, errors are still possible. To read the text of a simple photo, “Image to text” is a better fit. The language models come from ElniDocs, and recognition runs in your browser.
