Which tables are recognised?
Tables drawn with lines, cell by cell, and tables aligned with spaces (statements, price lists). The text must be selectable: for a scan, the text is first recognised by OCR, right in the tool.
Do numbers and dates stay text?
No: “1,234.56”, “1 234,56”, “12.5%”, “-$3.00” become numbers and “12/31/2026” or “2026-12-31” dates, following the English or French way each table is written. Phone and account numbers, and numbers starting with 0, stay text.
What about merged cells or cells on several lines?
The text of a cell on several lines is gathered in one cell. Merged cells are not recreated: their text goes to the first cell they cover.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Everything is processed in your browser, on your device: no file is sent anywhere, neither to ElniDocs nor to anyone else. You can check this by going offline once the page has loaded: the tool keeps working.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no sign-up, no adverts and no watermark added to your files. The only limit is your device's memory (up to 500 MB per file).
